Hi, I’m Maddie!
I work with clients navigating anxiety, OCD, trauma, grief, relationship concerns, perfectionism, and major life transitions.
People often describe my style as warm, engaged, and collaborative. I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely understood while also being thoughtfully challenged. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable exploring difficult experiences while also receiving practical guidance that helps you move forward.
I am a licensed psychologist in Connecticut (#5435) and an authorized PSYPACT provider (APT #25832), allowing me to provide teletherapy to clients located in 43 participating PSYPACT states, including New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., Texas, and Florida. For a complete list of participating states, please see the PSYPACT map.
My Approach to Therapy
Anxiety, obsessive thoughts, grief, perfectionism, relationship struggles, and emotional overwhelm don’t happen in isolation. They often develop as ways of coping, protecting ourselves, or making sense of earlier experiences. While those strategies may have been adaptive at one point, they can eventually become limiting or keep us feeling stuck.
My approach combines evidence-based treatments with a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship. We’ll spend time understanding the patterns that show up in your life, where they came from, and how they continue to influence the way you think, feel, and relate to yourself and others.
Depending on your goals, therapy may include EMDR, ERP, ACT, CBT, CPT, or interpersonal work. Some sessions focus on learning concrete skills, while others involve slowing down to notice emotional experiences, explore relationship dynamics, or process difficult memories.
Above all, I strive to create a space where you feel genuinely known. I believe meaningful change happens when people experience both acceptance and thoughtful challenge.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
EMDR is a therapy approach that helps people process distressing memories and experiences that continue to feel overwhelming. It uses guided techniques to help the brain integrate these experiences in a way that can reduce their emotional intensity and impact.
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
CBT focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It helps people identify patterns that may be keeping them stuck and develop more balanced perspectives and practical skills for managing challenges.
ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention)
ERP is an evidence-based treatment for OCD. It helps people gradually face uncomfortable thoughts, feelings, or situations while practicing new ways of responding instead of relying on avoidance or compulsive behaviors.
ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)
ACT helps people develop a healthier relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions while focusing on what matters most to them. This approach uses mindfulness, acceptance, and values-based actions to help people move toward a more meaningful, fulfilling, and purposeful life.
CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy)
CPT is a trauma-focused therapy that helps people examine and work through beliefs that may have developed after difficult experiences. It supports a deeper understanding of how trauma has affected the way someone views themselves, others, and the world.
