OCD & Anxiety
OCD is much more than being organized or liking things a certain way. It often involves intrusive thoughts that feel frightening, unwanted, or completely inconsistent with who you are.
Many people don’t realize that compulsions aren’t always visible. Mental reviewing, reassurance seeking, analyzing, checking memories, researching, trying to “figure it out,” or endlessly searching for certainty can all function as compulsions that keep OCD going. I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold standard treatment for OCD, while also integrating ACT and relational approaches when appropriate. I work with clients experiencing:
Relationship OCD (ROCD)
Harm OCD
Existential OCD
Scrupulosity
Contamination concerns
Checking and responsibility fears
Mental compulsions and rumination
Together, we’ll learn to respond differently to uncertainty so OCD no longer gets to make the decisions.
